As the lottery draw stands at present punters have an eight million to one chance of winning the jackpot! Not so with the Family Resource Centre’s weekly 100 Club Draw where you have a 33 to 1 chance of winning a prize! We have three prizes up for grabs each week with only 100 subscribers. After 20 weeks of the draw 29 people have won once, 2 have won on 3 occasions, 14 have won twice, and one family has won a total of 8 prizes between them while another family has received 5 prizes between them. Lines cost €2.00 each.Little smiles with big dreamsLittle Smiles with Big Dreams is a parent and toddler group that meets every Wednesday morning at 10:30am – 12 noon in the Family Resource Centre.  Anyone who is in care of a child whether an aunt / uncle/ child-minder or grandparent is welcome.  The kiddies can get involved in messy play, free play, story time and music time where the adult can enjoy a cuppa tea and meet other adults.  Parent and Toddler Groups are a great way to enhance your little one’s confidence and meet others of their age.A light lunch is provided at a small cost of 50 cent per family.Raphoe Walking Group The Walking Group meets every Thursday morning at 10.30am.  All abilities are catered for. And an important element of the group is coming in afterwards to have a chat and a cuppa! The weather hasn’t been too kind to our walkers throughout July and indeed for the first two weeks of August so let’s all hope for an Indian summer to get back out on the roads again. New members are always welcome so please feel free to join us on Thursday mornings!Afterschool Programme RegistrationYes, we know the summer isn’t yet over and sorry for reminding you that back to school is just around the corner! Registration for our afterschool programme and youth café will take place on Tuesday 1st September from 3.00-5.00pm. Looking forward to seeing you then.Date for your diary: Free Stress Control Workshops During the month of September the Family Resource Centre in association with Donegal Mind Wellness Project will be hosting a series of workshops on stress control with the first workshop taking place on Monday 7th September from 7.30-9.00pm.  We all live in stressful times and situations. Recognising and understanding stress and its triggers and how it can impact on our lives is key to building resilience and strengthening our ability to cope. These workshops aim to help you manage your stress at home and in the workplace and will be of benefit to you personally as well as assisting you in supporting others. The workshops are free of charge. You won’t be obliged to speak, just to listen, learn and practice. No need to book so just come along and bring a friend.Young Carers GroupAre you a young carer? Do you help to take care for someone at home who has an illness, disability, substance misuse, mental health difficulty or bereavement? The Loft Youth Project hosts a Young Carers Group for 12-18 year olds on Saturday mornings at 16-18 Port Road, Letterkenny. Council and we would like to extend sincere thanks to local solicitor, Donough Cleary and Company and Councillor Frank Mc Brearty for all their efficient work carried out with the transaction. Their support is greatly appreciated.The Raphoe Club is now reopened after the summer break with Head Coach, Gary Mc Cullagh and his assistants on hand every Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights from 6-9pm when all new and former members are welcome to attend.Best wishes and every success for the future is extended to former boxer, coach and Club Treasurer, John Sweeney and his partner Victoria Mc Connell who are off to Canada in the coming weeks to start a new life. John, a very loyal servant of the Club will be greatly missed by all at the local Club.St. Eunan’s National School 60 Year CelebrationsSt Eunan’s NS Raphoe is celebrating its 60 year anniversary. We will be hosting the celebrations in September/ October 2015. This is a perfect opportunity to promote local history to our children in a fun and interesting way. We are looking for local people to help us organise the event and to pass on their expertise on the history of the school. If you are interested contact Anita Keeve at St Eunan’s NS, on 074 91 45764. As part of this event the children are tracing past pupils all around the world and indeed Ireland.
