Davies heading for Hull exit? Sunderland and Leicester eye Tigers defender

first_imgPremier League duo Sunderland and Leicester have both made enquiries to sign Hull club captain Curtis Davies. The experienced defender has lost his place in Steve Bruce’s side in recent weeks and it has prompted speculation he could leave the KC Stadium in January.Davies, who joined Hull in 2013 from Birmingham City, has reiterated his desire to stay at the club but may be forced to reconsider his future if he is unable to play regular first-team football. The 29-year-old, who enjoyed a short loan spell at Leicester in 2010, could be available for a fee of £5m as the Black Cats and Nigel Pearson’s men look to strengthen their defence to stay in the top-flight.It is unlikely Hull would let Davies leave the club on loan but Bruce may decide to cash in on the defender, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2016, to free up some funds for further signings next month.
