Morrison to compete in final World Cup event of season in Germany

first_imgThe final World Cup speed skating event of the year will be held this weekend in Erfurt, Germany, and Denny Morrison will be taking part as he’ll lace up the skates for the 1,000, and 1,500 metre races. His top finish up to this point this season was a bronze medal showing in the 1,500 metre in Norway in February. In a Speed Skating Canada release Morrison said, “This season just seems to never end. It can be hard to stay motivated for a World Cup once all the World Championship competitions have been raced, but knowing Speed Skating Canada has the confidence in us to send us back to Europe for these final races gives me a purpose to go for my best performances of the season and hopefully climb the World Cup points ladder.”He comes into the weekend ranked fifth in the 1,500 metre standings with 259 points. That puts him just two points back of third overall.- Advertisement –last_img read more
