The Entire Marvel Cinematic Universe is Coming to IMAX

first_imgStay on target It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve watched the blu-rays, there’s nothing like seeing a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie on the big screen. These movies are huge, and they deserve a treatment you just can’t get at home. If you’ve been wanting to see the entire MCU in theaters again, Labor Day week will be your best chance. Disney and IMAX announced today that IMAX theaters will be showing the entire MCU to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary.  Every single movie will be shown in that huge format, and yes, that includes The Incredible Hulk. IMAX put out a trailer featuring the cast and crew of the MCU, and this whole thing sounds like so much fun. Mashable got the exclusive on the video below.Yeah, I know where I’ll be spending the first week of September. The festival kicks off August 30, when IMAX theaters will show all 20 MCU films in order over five days. (That’s a lot more manageable than the two-day overnight marathons most theaters have tried.) The next two days will feature shorter marathons of films organized around a theme. You’ll be able to watch all the origin movies, for example, or all the team-ups. The whole thing ends on September 6, when only two films will be shown, voted on by fans. This is an incredibly cool way to celebrate 10 years of this crazy successful comic book movie experiment. It’ll be especially cool to see those early films again blown up to IMAX proportions. Tickets are on sale at IMAX’s site. You buy each movie individually, which makes sense. 20 films is a lot for a single ticket. Besides, this way you can skip the ones you don’t like as much. *cough*Iron Man 2*cough*Seriously though, this is super cool, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see fans picking a chair and parking in it for the entire week. And four films per day is totally doable. Get your tickets now though. We know how Marvel movies tend to sell out.Let us know what you like about Geek by taking our survey.
