NYCC Prepare Yourself Emotionally Black Mirror is Back

first_img Hands-On: Monster Energy Supercross is More Exciting Than Soft DrinksCosplay Gallery: New York Comic Con 2017, Part 2 NYCC fans of Black Mirror were treated to the teaser trailer, plus an exclusive clip from the upcoming season of Black Mirror. Season four is due sometime soon (hopefully), but we can’t wait to be shaken and devastated by the six new episodes premiering on Netflix. If you guys aren’t Black Mirror fans, you’re missing out on something extraordinary. I’m the biggest dork for series like Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside and House of Horrors. If you’re as big of a dork as I am, you’re going to love this anthology. Black Mirror takes a darker turn in its anthology series. The series takes our modern age and technology, twisting it onto itself and making it so much worse than we can ever imagine. The show has run for three seasons now, gaining momentum and fans since its partnership with Netflix. Since then, the show has found a home, even collecting awards for its outstanding storytelling. The episode titled “San Junipero” won an Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie, and creator Charlie Brooker won for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special. This show is nothing seen on TV today, capturing something that is both terrifying and real, but modern and authentic.via NYCCThis NYCC panel was a bit different than the last. We didn’t get an exclusive episode, but instead, a fantastic panel that consisted of moderator and director of the episode “Archangel” Jodie Foster joined by show creator and writer Charlie Brooker with executive producer Annabel Jones talking about what to expect from the upcoming season.Jodie, Charlie, and Annabel dive into the conversation without spoiling anything because… how can they? The series works best when it’s entirely in secret and show creator Charlie Brooker expresses how hard it is to keep a season under wraps and tell what it’s about.“It’s a really tricky show to promote in many ways because there are no recurring characters from previous seasons. So, I can’t tell you… “I’ll tell you what Jon Snow is up to now.” Can’t-do any of that. And also you don’t want to know. It’s kind of like an unboxing video, isn’t it?” They can guarantee audiences they’ve “…delivered lots of different genres and lots of different tones.” Brooker mentions the season has “… tackled different words than before.” Also, they tease the playful side of the episodes mixing in with the horrid darkness in true Black Mirror fashion, especially following that of the news in the world today.via Black Mirror / NetflixThe teaser clip from the season comes from Foster’s episode, written by Charlie Brooker titled “Archangel” starring Rosemarie Dewitt, Brenna Harding, and Owen Teague. Dewitt plays a mother who implants her child with a chip from the company Archangel, which seems to be a child protection type service. This episode already has the implications of going very very wrong. Especially with the knowledge that her daughter’s chip comes with a filter to shield her from things that are undesirable. Foster says the episode is between the mother and daughter with a relationship that is “…partly handicapping, partly not letting the child have freedom.”I’m wicked excited for season four of this brilliant show. If you haven’t watched or caught up, you can view all the episodes on Netflix. I don’t suggest binge-watching altogether. Please go outside and get some ice cream. Season 4 is coming out soon with six brand new stories that will entirely have you on edge.Let us know what you like about Geek by taking our survey. Stay on targetlast_img read more
