LCD Soundsystem Just Announced Two Shows At An Intimate NYC Venue This Weekend

first_imgWhen LCD Soundsystem said their ‘Long Goodbye’ in 2011, the band filled Madison Square Garden for the emotional performance. Now, almost five years to the day, LCD will return to New York once more. Already announced to headline Panorama Festival in July, the band will hit Webster Hall for two nights of musical mayhem, this Sunday March 27th and Monday March 28th.These mark the band’s first shows in five years, though the group is slated to perform at a number of summer festivals, including Coachella and Bonnaroo. While MSG holds roughly 18,000 people, Webster Hall’s main stage has a capacity of 1,500 – and you can bet that it will be a packed house.To gain entry to the shows, dubbed “Back From The Dead,” fans can enter a lottery for tickets. National U-15 footballers leave for French Guiana today … Parent-Player meeting to be held

first_imgTHE Guyana U-15 football squad depart the country, today, for French Guiana where they will participate in the Claude Elise Under-15 football tournament scheduled for December 17 to 22.On the eve of departure, the technical staff hosted a parent-player meeting to brief parents about the activities of the recently held camp and the upcoming tournament.Among the other activities conducted during the ten-day camp were two sessions facilitated by two GFF staffers. The topic, Laws of the Game, was done by Stanley Lancaster, head of Refereeing Department and Media Training by Debra Francis, Public Relations and Communications Officer.The full contingent who left via Moleson Creek this morning reads: Goalkeepers – Shawn Adonis and Oswin Fredericks (East Coast); Defenders Joshua Braithwaite and Jermaine Padmore (Georgetown), Wayne Da Silva (Rupununi), Cyrus Nicholson (Berbice) and Rickford Emmanuel (East Coast). Midfielders Shannon Samnauth and Tyrel Khan (East Bank), Orville Daniels (Rupununi), Derron Niles (Georgetown) and Okifi Patoir (Berbice). Forwards Omari Glasgow and Troni Semple (East Coast), Ken Salvador (Rupununi) and Jermaine Garrett (Georgetown). Technical staff: technical director Ian Greenwood; head coach Brian Joseph; assistant coach Challus McKinnon; goalkeeper coach Eon De Vieira and team manager Keith O’Jeer.The tournament will feature participation from French territories in the region and neighbouring countries including Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Suriname and Olympique de Marseille.last_img read more
